Having spent a month in India earlier this year, I came home excited to try out the recipes I had learnt under my inspirational cooking teacher in Udaipur. Of course, far too confident that I was going to be the world’s best non Indian cook of Indian food, I suitably made one of the worst curries I have ever eaten, even though I followed the recipe I had brought back with me to a tee. I don’t know what I did wrong, but it put me off cooking Indian again, until tonight. I went straight for google and found a yellow split pea and potato curry. I made it tonight and added some chopped silver beet and served it with some steamed brown rice and a squeeze of lime juice. Delicious!
